Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Consultier (“Consultier”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit consultier.ai or use the Consultier platform (together, the “Service”). Consultier helps consulting firms and their partners understand the relationships that drive the consulting market, and connects them with experienced consulting professionals.
The short version. We collect only what we need to run the Service. We never sell personal information. A candidate's full profile is shared with a client only after the candidate agrees and a recruiter has reviewed the request. We do not share your mobile number or text-message consent with anyone for marketing. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information at any time by writing to privacy@consultier.ai.
1. Who we are
Consultier is the data controller for personal information processed through the Service, except where we state below that we act on behalf of a client. Consultier works with its recruitment partner, Merittas, which supplies professional profile information about consulting professionals and supports recruiter review. Questions about this policy can be sent to privacy@consultier.ai.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: name, work email address, company, job title, password (stored only in hashed form) and, if you choose, a mobile phone number used for verification and service messages.
- Professional profile (candidates): career history, current and previous employers, service lines, skills, industry expertise, education, location, career level, CV and, where you provide them, salary expectations and availability.
- Client activity: searches, saved lists, shortlists, and approve, reject or archive decisions made in the platform.
- Communications: messages you send us, requests for access, and support enquiries.
Information from other sources
- Our recruitment partner, Merittas: professional profile information about consulting professionals with whom Merittas has a recruitment relationship.
- Public professional sources: publicly available information about firms and their organisation, such as company websites, published rankings and professional networking profiles.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and pages requested. We use it to deliver the Service securely and to prevent abuse. Our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) processes this data on our behalf.
- Cookies: this website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The platform uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect your account. We will ask for your consent before using any non-essential cookies.

4. How candidate information is shared
Candidate privacy is central to how Consultier works.
- Clients first see an anonymised card: service line, skills, industry expertise and career level. They do not see names, contact details, salary or other identifying details.
- A full profile (name, contact details, CV) is released to a specific client only after the candidate has expressed interest and a recruiter has reviewed the request. The exception is a candidate who has already been introduced to that client through our recruitment partner.
- Clients may use released information only to assess that candidate for an opportunity. They may not copy it into other systems for unrelated purposes, sell it or use it to contact the candidate outside the agreed process.
5. Text messages (SMS)
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we send messages related to your account: verification codes, security alerts and notifications about activity you have requested. We do not send marketing by text without separate, explicit consent.
- Message frequency varies with your account activity. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. You can also contact privacy@consultier.ai.
- We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers or text-message opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Information is shared only with the service providers who deliver our messages.
6. Email
We send transactional emails, such as sign-up confirmation, password resets and notifications you have asked for, from consultier.ai addresses. Marketing emails always include an unsubscribe link, and we honour unsubscribe requests promptly. We monitor bounces and complaints and stop sending to addresses that bounce or complain.
7. Service providers
We use carefully selected providers who process personal information only on our instructions and under contracts that protect it:
- Amazon Web Services: application hosting, data storage, and email and SMS delivery.
- Cloudflare: website hosting, security and email routing.
- Merittas: recruitment partner supplying professional profile data and recruiter review.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply.
8. International transfers
Our providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Where information from the UK or EU is transferred to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
9. How long we keep information
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. After you close your account, we delete or anonymise it within 12 months, unless we must keep it longer for legal, tax or dispute-resolution reasons. You can ask us to remove a candidate profile at any time.
10. Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, multi-factor authentication for administrative access and activity logging. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@consultier.ai. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you based solely on automated processing. Matching results are always reviewed by people before any introduction is made.
12. Children
The Service is intended for professionals and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new “last updated” date and, for significant changes, tell registered users by email.
